Al1714 driver

Hi guys, I have a really old crappy Monitor (Acer AL1714) which I use as my second Display. Two weeks ago I swapped my case to a Enthoo Evolv ATX TG and everything went fine, except for the fact that my second Monitor is now flickering like crazy. Looks quite like a tearing effect in a games and sometimes the flickering goes from the top to the bottom of the display in a horizontal line. Couldnt find any further help online. Since the problem started after I swapped the case I have the suspicion. I've been trying to repair my Westinghouse monitor for about a week now, and any little strides I make, I feel more and more confused. I've concluded that the EEPROM on my monitor has been corrupted, since Windows recognizes my monitor as an Acer AL1714, which has a much lower native resolution. I believe with the correct EDID, I can make an INF file (Using a program I found) and install it as a driver to override the information my monitor is sending. I may be way over my head, but maybe someo.
